Sandbagging Available for River Residents
Cuba Township is preparing for anticipated flooding along the Fox River beginning this evening and continuing through later this week, according to current forecasts.
Sand and bags are available for pickup at the Road District, 28070 W Cuba Road in Barrington.
Bring a shovel and gloves to fill your bags.
At this time, there are no road closures. However, lane or full road closures may occur as conditions change.

Residents are encouraged to visit Lake County’s Emergency Management Flood Info and Safety site.
BRUSH PICK UP NOTICE – CUBA TOWNSHIP
Brush pickup is this week April 13-17
Please be patient as crews make their way through the township. It will take the entire week to complete all areas. Thank you for understand and cooperation.
The guidelines are as follows:
- The diameter of branches needs to be less than 8”.
- The pile should be neatly stacked.
- No wider than 10’ (looking at it from the street), 4’ high, and 5’ deep.
- No root balls, stumps, decorative grasses, leaves or yard waste.
- If the brush pile exceeds this guideline, the remaining branches WILL NOT be picked up!
- One pile per household.
Cuba Township Road District office is closed the following dates for the upcoming holiday(s): Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day.
